Mullet Session: Up The River

NEW RIVER - Quick afternoon session up the New River with Capt. Dave MacKenzie of Fishnorthbay.com to chunk and drag hoglegs around sunset. The action was pretty slim around all the usual spots but we did manage to squeeze out a few little jumps. Boat traffic was slim, and other than a few kids tossing plug around we were left alone and didn't have any spot creepers to deal with. We will be getting out there again this week, as we are deep into production shooting some new episodes for the Youtube account. The mullet run is gonna be here soon, and you gotta keep your gear tight if you expect to have success over the length of the season. We will be traveling and following the mullet pods down the coast so we will have (3) working nets, the nets needs some attention and now is the time to do those repairs and tweaks so you dont end baitless when the pods are in your area. It happens fast and if you aren't ready you miss it. . Once the nets are in order, we will turn our attention to the buckets and wells. That includes pumps and plumbing.
