What Circle Hooks Do You Trust?
Do you have Hook Brand loyalty? Do you have one or two trusted brands that you stick with when you know you are going to be fishing for big fish? Check it out, for the longest time I used to use only Gamakatsu circle hooks, yeah they were a little expensive but to me they were worth, and then sometime a few months ago I started having problems. FULL DISCLOSURE - I do alot of Tarpon Fishing, and push all the tackle including the rod, and reel, and the line, leader and hooks beyond its rated class size. I understand that I am asking alot to catch 60lb fish on gear that is rated and tested in the 12lb class. With that being said, I still never had a problem with Gamakatsu hooks until a few months ago when I started bending hooks. I bought a few more packs of the Gamakatsu hooks hoping that I had just gotten a bad batch, but the hook bending continued, so I had to switch it up.
